  • 18 September – Henry Cary, 1st Viscount Falkland, is sworn in as Lord Deputy of Ireland.
  • Thomas Dease is consecrated Roman Catholic Bishop of Meath, returning to Ireland from Paris.
  • Frederick Hamilton is given lands in Leitrim.
