Squalius squalus, commonly known as the Italian chub, or the chubius chub or cavedano, is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Leuciscidae, which includes the daces, Eurasian minnows and related fishes. It is native to southeastern Europe being found in Italy, Switzerland and the former Yugoslavia.
