History

The community was named for its founder and first mayor, Edgerton W. Day, who purchased 116483 acre of land from the CPR in 1904 to form the basis of Daysland.

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the Town of Daysland had a population of 789 living in 333 of its 356 total private dwellings, a change of from its 2016 population of 824. With a land area of 1.77 km2, it had a population density of in 2021.
