Geography
Bayview is located in eastern Cameron County at (26.129573, –97.401165). It is 16 mi east of San Benito and 14 mi northwest of Port Isabel.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 12.0 km2, of which 10.1 km2 is land and 1.9 km2, or 15.81%, is water.

As of the 2020 United States census, there were 475 people, 222 households, and 189 families residing in the town.
2000 census
At the 2000 census, there were 323 people, 116 households and 88 families residing in the town. The population density was 115.2 PD/sqmi. There were 133 housing units at an average density of 47.5 /sqmi. The racial makeup of the town was 95.67% White, 0.93% African American, 1.37% Native American, 0.68% from other races, and 2.28% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 29.41% of the population.
There were 116 households, of which 27.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.3% were married couples living together, 11.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.3% were non-families. 20.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.15.
